Official sources. Clear limits.

Downpayment.org is independent and is not a government agency. Our selected program catalog covers all 50 states and DC, using official housing agency pages and documents checked October 21, 2026. Each program card links to its agency source. This is not an exhaustive list of local, employer, tribal, nonprofit or specialty programs.

Program information is not individual eligibility. The survey does not check all county income and purchase-price limits, actual property address or appraisal, qualifying-income definitions, lender overlays, loan selection, education, assets or funding reservations. Missouri has selected additional preliminary rules; it still does not provide full eligibility.

A published maximum is a ceiling, not your award. Conditional illustrations use the stated program formula. Where disclosed, the survey assumes your first mortgage equals your home price, or your appraisal is at least your home price. Actual values can change the result. Programs are alternatives unless a lender verifies stacking. Grants, repayable loans and conditional forgivable loans have different obligations.

Current funding must be confirmed. Conflicting amounts are withheld unless a current governing agency document resolves them. Announced rule changes stop calculations on their review-expiry date. Other calculations pause after their review window expires. Hawaii currently provides agency homebuyer resources without an independently verified general cash-assistance amount.

Inspect the catalog and official source links. NCSHA workbook files and raw workbook content are not published.

ZIP reference: GeoNames, under CC BY 4.0. ZIP routing does not establish address eligibility. Agency terms control over any summary here.

When you choose “Use area estimate,” the survey uses Census ACS 2020–2024 median owner-occupied home value for your ZIP Code Tabulation Area, or your state if local data is unavailable or unreliable. This historical benchmark is not today’s average sales price or a program purchase-price limit. We exclude suppressed, topcoded and high-uncertainty local values. You can change the assumed home price. Census source and methodology.
